2013 Badge Re-Issue information
Due to security regulations, the Midland International Airport will begin issuing the next series of badges on September 1, 2013. Each badge holder must complete a new Airport Security Identification Badge Application, two valid forms of I.D, and submit the application along with a $5.00 renewal fee to Airport Operations. It is imperative that all badges are surrendered to Airport Operations and reissued no later than October 31, 2013. At midnight on October 31, 2013 all “M” series badges will be deactivated. The new ‘J’ series paperwork will be available beginning September 1, 2013 at www.flymaf.com or inside the Airport Operations Office on the third floor of the Terminal Building. Older series paperwork will not be accepted for a badge renewal.
In addition, a new Security Agreement will be required for each company/private pilot operating at Midland International Airport prior to any badge issuance. New regulations require all individuals that are to be authorized signers for a company to complete additional yearly training specific to their position as an Authorized Signer. Those that have not completed this training prior to signing for new badges will cause those individuals seeking renewal to be refused. This training will be held every Thursday at 11AM and 8PM in the Airport Operations office.

What do I need to provide to renew my Badge?
In order to renew an ID, the badge holder must provide a current ‘M’ series badge, a completed and signed ‘J’ series badge application, two forms of identification, and the $5 badge renewal fee as appropriate.
What ID’s do I need to provide for the renewal?
Two types of valid identification must be provided from the list of acceptable ID’s provided in the complete fingerprinting and badge application paperwork. If you have questions regarding what ID’s are accepted, please contact the Airport Operations Office.
Am I required to renew my badge if it was recently issued?
Yes. If your badge is a ‘M’ series and was issued at any time prior to September 1, 2013, it will have to be renewed.
Is a new Security Agreement required?
Yes. All companies/private pilots are required to fill out a new Security Agreement before badges can be renewed. Badges will not be issued to any employee unless a new series Security Agreement is on file with Airport Operations.
Where can I obtain the required paperwork?
The new ‘J’ series paperwork will be available at www.flymaf.com or inside the Airport Operations Office on the third floor of the Terminal Building. New ‘J’ series paperwork will be available beginning September 1, 2013. Old series paperwork will not be accepted for a badge renewal.
Do I need to take the Authorized Signer Training?
This depends on the current status of your training. Authorized Signer Training is valid for one (1) year from the date you take it. If your training has not expired, you may reissue badges as necessary. If your training has expired, you will be required to retake the class before you are allowed to authorize badge applications. The Authorized Signer class is offered on Thursdays at 11:00AM or 8:00PM. If you are unsure of your Authorized Signer status, please contact Airport Operations.
Am I required to return my current badge if I’m not getting a new series badge?
Yes. All ‘M’ series badges must be returned to the Airport Operations Office even if you will not need a new series badge. Badges that are no longer needed may be mailed or returned in person.
